The Refuge Pageau offers shelter to wild animals in need of rehabilitation with the aim of returning them to the wild following their recovery. Where it is not possible to release an animal back in to the wild, the Refuge Pageau’s mission continues by providing them long term accommodation. It is without a doubt the presence of these long term residents which attracts the vast number of visitors to the Refuge Pageau year on year. In addition to providing shelter and rest bite to animals; the Refuge Pageau educates its visitors on the importance of respecting and conserving the boreal forest and the numerous inhabitants which call the boreal forest home.
